About this workshop

This is a guided journaling session designed for two kinds of people: those who want to start journaling, and those who already journal but need fresh momentum.

Betty Brown will lead you through a simple “new season” framework for personal growth — where you are now, what you’re ready to release, what you want to grow next, and the steps to move forward. As she speaks, you’ll work through prompts in real time and build a creative journal page alongside the session. This session will be presented primarily in Afrikaans.
English-speaking participants are warmly welcome, and assistance will be offered where possible.

If you’re feeling stuck or in a personal “in-between season,” this session gives you structure and supportive guidance to journal your way back to clarity. If you already journal regularly, you’ll leave with new prompts, a new lens, and a finished page that becomes your personal “Bloom Map” to revisit later.

About Betty Van Der Walt

Betty is the owner of Die Ou Huis venue in Upington, and she also creates floral designs for events. She’s also the founder of Ingeven, a locally made clothing and gift brand with a shop in Upington. At the Love Dahlias Festival, Betty brings her calm, creative energy to this guided journaling session — helping you map a new season and create a meaningful journal page as you go.

What you will learn

  1. How to use journaling as a practical tool
Not just “write and hope for the best” — but a way to create clarity and direction.

  2. A “new season” framework for getting unstuck
A step-by-step structure you can reuse whenever life feels messy, loud, or unclear.

  3. Prompts that deepen your practice
Beginner-friendly, but still meaningful for experienced journalers.

  4. How to create a finished, meaningful journal page
A completed spread you can come back to later — like a little compass you made yourself.
