Collection: Tooty Fruity Garden Ranunculus

The Tooty Fruity Ranunculus Collection is something a little different from the ranunculus we traditionally grow for cutting. These were chosen with the home gardener in mind, beautiful plants that can become part of your garden rather than disappearing into a flower farmer’s cutting tunnel. Their stems are more compact than our dedicated cutting varieties, making them perfect for the front of garden beds, along borders, tucked between other spring favourites or planted in pots and containers. And, of course, there will still be plenty of flowers to snip for a little vase on the kitchen table.

What makes Tooty Fruity particularly special to me is the color. I didn't want to simply put a handful of different colours together and call it a mix. Instead, each Tooty Fruity mix is being created around its own color story, with shades carefully chosen because they belong together. The idea is that you can choose a mix to suit the garden you already love, perhaps soft creams and buttery yellows, juicy peach and coral tones, bright pinks or beautiful layers of lilac, mauve and purple. Rather than feeling like an afterthought, the ranunculus can become part of your planting plan and work with the flowers and foliage already growing around them.

Tooty Fruity started as a little passion project here at Love Dahlias, and that is very much how we are developing it. We are growing the flowers ourselves on the farm in Douglas, watching how they perform in our South African conditions and, most importantly, seeing the colours flowering together before deciding on the final recipes.

Now we are getting ready to share them with you. Our first Tooty Fruity Garden Ranunculus Mixes will go on sale from December 2026, with delivery in February 2027, ready for you to grow them in your own garden for the coming season.
