About this experience

Dahlias & Drinks River Cruise is a relaxed cruise on the Vaal River during the Love Dahlias Festival in Douglas.

We board the Natura Barge at Broadwater River Estate and take an easy trip on the water with dahlia touches on deck, and a Mimosa welcome drink included in your ticket. It’s a calm, unhurried way to enjoy a festival day – sit down, chat, look at the view and let someone else do the driving for a change.

Cruise times (three departures daily)

There will be 3 River Cruises each day during the festival:

10:00 - 11.30 Morning cruise
13:00 - 14.30 Midday cruise
17:00 - 16.30 Afternoon cruise

When you book, you’ll choose the time slot you want. Don't be late, they will leave without you. 

How it fits into your festival day

Dahlias & Drinks River Cruise is designed to slot in easily, whether you want a gentle break in the day or a golden-hour moment on the river.

Two Love Dahlias Festival workshops are hosted at or close to Broadwater River Estate and are planned to finish in time for guests to join the 17:00 cruise:

•  The Buzz about Bees Workshop presented by Douglas Bee Farms and Moerby Padstal

This makes the River Cruise an easy add-on:

• Enjoy an early lunch at Broadwaters (book directly with them)
• Enjoy an afternoon workshop at or near Broadwater
• Head down toward the river when it finishes
• Step straight onto the Natura Barge for the 17:00 cruise

If you’d like to make a full night of it, Broadwater’s restaurant is open for dinner after the cruise. Dinner at the restaurant is not included in this ticket and must be booked and paid directly with Broadwater.

What’s included

Your Dahlias & Drinks River Cruise ticket includes:

• A reserved place on the sunset river cruise during the Love Dahlias Festival

• A river cruise of approximately 90 minutes

• One welcome drink on board

• Dahlia-inspired styling touches on the boat

Not included:

• Any extra drinks beyond the included Mimosa

• Food/snacks (there will be no food served on the cruise)

• Lunch or Dinner at Broadwater River Estate (booked and paid directly with Broadwater)

Extra drinks (cash bar)

There will be a cash bar on board, so you’re welcome to purchase additional drinks during the cruise if you’d like.

Important ticket information

• This product is a cruise ticket, not a physical item.

• No parcel will be shipped and courier options at checkout do not apply.

• One ticket admits one person to Dahlias & Drinks River Cruise a on the date you select.

• Tickets are non-refundable, but you may transfer your ticket to another person if you can no longer attend.

• Because this is a river experience, timing and duration may change if the weather or river conditions require it. In the unlikely event that the cruise cannot run, an alternative plan will be arranged with Broadwater River Estate.

1. An order confirmation email from Love Dahlias with your booking details.

2. A follow-up email closer to the festival with:

   • Confirmed date and boarding time

   • Directions to Broadwater River Estate and the Natura Barge departure point
