About this workshop
Grow More Blooms – Seed Starting and Cuttings with Akanaka Blooms is for gardeners and small-scale flower growers who want to stretch their budget and their beds.
Using her experience on a small but productive flower farm, Nzwi Dyira will show you how she starts flowers from seed, takes cuttings, and grows young plants on until they are ready for the garden and, eventually, the vase.
The focus is on simple, repeatable methods that work in real South African conditions.
About Nzwi Dyira & Akanaka Blooms
Nzwi Dyira is the founder and flower farmer behind Akanaka Blooms Farm Flowers, a flower farm in Midvaal, Gauteng.
She grows seasonal, cottage-style and slightly quirky cut flowers on a plot, supplying bunches, buckets and U-pick mornings from the farm.
Alongside her work as a advocate who specialises in Alternative Dispute Resolution, she grow a lot of flowers from a small space, using seed starting and cuttings as key tools. In this workshop, she shares the practical side of what she has learned.
