Queen of Blooms – Flower Crown Workshop with Chane from Blom.Online is a relaxed, creative session where you make your own fresh flower crown from start to finish.

You’ll work with seasonal flowers and foliage, learn simple mechanics that keep everything in place, and walk away with a flower crown that actually fits and feels comfortable.

Because flower crowns are welcome at every festival dinner during the Love Dahlias Festival, you are warmly encouraged to wear your crown to dinner that same night.

About Chane & Blom.Online

Chane Swanepoel is the owner and lead designer behind Blom.Online (BLOM), a floral studio and online store based in Bloemfontein.

• She trained through the SA School of Weddings.

• She has more than ten years’ experience creating floral designs for weddings, events and workshops.

• Her style blends romance with natural creative flair, using seasonal flowers from local growers.

At Blom.Online she “tells stories with flowers” – and in this workshop, that story is all about flower crowns and feeling a little bit like festival royalty.

What you will learn

In Queen of Blooms, Chane will guide you through:

1. Crown basics and comfort

• Different styles of flower crowns (full, half, side-focused, delicate, bold)

• How to size and shape a crown base so it sits securely and comfortably on your head

2. Choosing flowers and foliage

• Which flowers hold up well in crowns

• How to mix focal blooms, fillers and greenery for balance and texture

• Keeping your colour palette pretty and practical

3. Mechanics and building

• Step-by-step construction using florist wire, tape and other basic materials

• How to attach flowers so they don’t fall out halfway through the evening

4. Finishing and styling

• How to finish the back neatly and adjust the fit

• Simple ideas for matching your crown with what you’re wearing to the festival dinners

You will build your own crown during the workshop, with plenty of help as you go.
